Minutes of WCS Committee meeting held 4:00pm Friday 23rd May 2025 at Anne s home.

Present: Adrienne (president), Anne, Mark James, Joan, Sandra, Gavin, Willi, Mark Yandall, Maya (co-opted in as stand-in for Adrienne when she is away).

Apologies: N/A.

Minutes of last committee meeting held 15/03/25: Accepted as true record (Note: David s surname is Hamilton, not Hammond).

Mid-year Concerts: - Friday 8^th August at Rocky Bay,

- Sunday 10^th August at St Peters.

Adrienne still plans to be away 26^th May - 20^th Jun, and 1^st Aug - 20^th Aug, so Maya has been co-opted to stand-in while Adrienne is away.

Mark James is leaving on 4^th Aug, so both Marks as well as Adrienne will miss the concerts.

Rocky Bay venue: Anne recommended having fewer audience seats to allow front row of Choir to be on floor given small stage, so approx. only 50 seats and therefore 50 tickets required. Adrienne or Mark J to check hall hire fee ($70?).

Mid-concert break Mark J to check if OSB (who now have 2 sub-groups: Yodel/Barber Shop) would like to do a couple on songs mid concert to give choir a break. Does anyone know anyone else able to do a solo?

Advertising: Mark J to arrange page ad in Gulf News in conjunction with an article.

Dee/Mark Y to arrange ad in What s On .

Requirements for various sized posters discussed. Maya to finalise requirements for printing of various poster sizes (laminated/unlaminated). Joan still to create draft poster (Anne will resend prototype to Joan) by next Tues night practice. Aim to distribute posters in July. Gavin to print A5 flyers.

Concert times: Rocky Bay 7:30pm (post-meeting note: changed to 7pm), St Peters 2pm. Adrienne to confirm times venues are booked from (6pm Rocky Bay, 12:30pm to 5pm St Peters).

Tickets: Sold at door. Joan to ask Sue at Shop-the-Rock. Joan will also sell them at Rocky Bay Gulf News Thurs mornings 31^st Jul and 7^th Aug. Maya to make up/print 50 tickets for Rocky Bay, 100 tickets for St Peters (different colours).

Program: Anne to make up, Gavin to print.

Screen: not required.

Supper: Altos/Bases = Rocky Bay, Sopranos/Tenors = St Peters.

Dress Code: Usual Solid colour top/Black bottom.

Christmas Concert:

Anne open for song suggestions, wants to finalise list of Christmas songs by end of July.

General Business:

Anne s travels: Anne will be away after the concerts from 12^th Aug to 19^th Aug. Agreed that choir will have a break after the concerts from practices, with first practice after concerts being 26^th Aug.

Anne will also be away couple of weeks in Sep (practices on 9^th and 16^th Sep to be led by Sandra), and 11^th Nov (practice to be led by Mark J).

WCS Web-site: Mark J still to complete photo update on WCS website.

Coffee/Tea/Biscuit fund: Adrienne to put out reminder notice asking people to bring a gold coin if they are wanting to have coffee/tea/biscuits during the break.

Next Committee Meeting: Tuesday 15^th July after choir practice at Whitakers (to finalise any outstanding details for August concerts).
