Treasurer's Report to the Waiheke Island Choral Society AGM, 16 March 2020

The year 2019 was much like 2018, a calm year financially speaking.  We had no major shows in either year, and we made small profits on our Puccini and Potpourri concerts, resulting in a year-end surplus of $353, up eleven dollars on 2018.  Income from membership subs rose a bit on the previous year; so did our charitable donations (this year to the Waiheke Resources Trust), a result of a very successful joint Christmas concert with Sister Shout and V12.  Other income and expenses were roughly the same as in 2018.

We head into 2020 with bank balances in excess of $20,000 and no significant liabilities, which puts us in a good position to tackle a major show if we should choose to do so.

Attached are two documents:

  1. Cashbook Summary for 2019, showing all income and expenses for the year, and summary numbers for each of our concerts.
  2. Financial Statements for 2019, showing financial performance and position, along with assets (essentially our piano).  These statements were reviewed and approved by Rocky Rhodes, and will be submitted to the Charities Commission if the AGM approves them.
